Happy Trails - news and photos of horses adopted!

Rudy (the black pig from HRRRF) is doing great. He is such a sweety and him and Buddy, Lucy and Peepers all sleep together now... They are something else. Thank you again for this awesome boy. - Lori

Maddie and Katie on their new best friend, Stuart Little.
Stuart was adopted from HRRRF in 2006 to a family that loves him very much. He was a young, inexperienced, three year old that had some learning to do. Eileen (mommy) did several Gentle Horsemanship trainer Ed Dabney (www.eddabney.com) classes with him with a great success! He is now close to four years old and is such a good boy, the whole family can ride him – even Katie, the 5 yr old can ride him by herself. Maddie enjoys practicing the Ed Dabney techniques and Eileen still enjoys taking lessons with Ed and teaching him new skills.

Jason Holcombe riding Grayson (Davin) who he recently adopted from SaveTheHorses. Grayson was never ridden now he is Jason best trail horse and has spent many hours enjoying the beauty in Tribble Park.

Jason Malcom enjoying his ride on newly adopted beautiful mare, Pearl. They are new best friends and enjoying all their outings. Look for them on the trails around the Southeast.

Waylon Duncan proudly riding his newly adopted equine friend, Monty (on left). Waylon recently was bitten by the 'horse bug' (we know there is no cure). Now he enjoys the fun of trail riding every chance he gets. On the right is Blu, Waylon's other new equine friend. Isn't she lovely!

Risky and Kim

Kim Tedders, Petersburg, TN, is in love with her newest adopted big spotted gelding, Risky. Risky was well loved by his owner but blindness became a problem for Risky and his owner needed to place him in a loving home. As you can tell by the pictures, he's found his 'home' with Kim. Kim has adopted a few blind horses and they thrive in her care. Her son, Dusten also rides a blind, Quarter horse mare named Whinnie, they adopted from the rescue. Dustin competes with his favorite mount, Whinnie, at Cowboy Mounted Shooting and barrel racing. Look for them on PAX-TV's Animal Tails Sunday Nights at 6 PM. Kim's talented husband, Allan Tedders, recorded a great country music CD called 'One For The Horses' and you can by it in Our Store. It's a great gift for any horse lover and the profits go to help us keep helping horses.

Cheetah is a Leopard Appaloosa gaited gelding with lots of spots. He has some feet problems and is not ride able at this time but that didn't stop Julia from falling in love with him and adopting him anyway. He doesn't have to be ride able for Julia, all she wants is his happiness and comfort. A Vet will be here soon to do x-rays and see if we can help Cheetah even more with corrective shoes and supplements. Julia loves him and Cheetah is relaxed in her arms. Cheetah has some abuse issues and trembles in situations that may be frightening to him. Julia is building his confidence slowly.

I'm still the princess pony...THAT will never change. Megan, the little girl who loves me, is so much fun to tease! She comes to catch me and I fancy-dance away! Then Mom comes and I behave like nothing happened...sassy me! I have a crazy fear of hairballs blowing around the barn floor, but other than that, I'm perfect!!

I'm very beautiful, very well-behaved, very spoiled, and very loved. Mom calls me her Equine Angel, and says my nicker is one of her favorite sounds ever. She asked me to attach a picture of me "striking a pose." My dapples are different from year to year, and last summer Mom said I never looked so good. Ha! Wait till THIS summer, Mom!!!

It's hard to believe that I left your place in July of 2003...where does the time go?? I hope all is well.

Love, Annabelle Marie

Michelle Roessler of Tennessee riding Roxanne, adopted in 2004

Yoshi adopted by Melissa Phillips of Charleston, SC

Therapy adopted by Marilyn Goff of Ball Ground

Killian Red (draft nurse mare foal) at eight weeks old adopted by J. Regan and Shirley Walters of Alpharetta.

Top Gun is a beautiful Morgan gelding. He was abused with serious trust-in-people problems. Now adopted by Kent Vanattia, Blue Ridge, GA. He has helped Top Gun trust again through patience and love, as shown by this kiss!
