FREE Horse In Danger ~ STH to the Rescue!
Update..This Craigslist horse was FREE to first trailer to show up. The ad read, take him to auction and you keep the money. The person stated she took him because the original owner said he was going to shoot the colt. We were outraged because a stud colt, with a leg problem has a 1% chance of finding a loving home at the auction. The kill buyers would have him for less than meat prices.

Update on Craigslist Colt
This colt is now gelded. Dr Eric Miller in Rock Spring, GA gelded him. It went well. Celeste Foster trailered him 30 miles then waited for him to recover for the ride back. He was laid down, gelded and a cloth placed over his eyes so he would stay sedated and come out of it slowly. If he woke up too fast, he could jump to his feet, possibly lose his balance and become injured. It is for safety reasons to take the necessary time to get this done. He now will get post surgery care and be exercised for his stifle. He should recover completely and be available for adoption very soon.

Animals in Need
Below are updates for some of the residents at Save the Horses that are currently receiving treatment. Click here to see updates and read more about our friends at the rescue. Your generous donations help us to continue helping the animals. Thank you!
Special Needs and Critical Condition Horses
Some horses come to us in such critical condition, they need extra special care. This mare came from animal control February 25, 2013. She could not get up without a sling. She needed IV fluids to rehydrate her. She is being carefully and slowly. When a horse loses more than 50 percent of its body weight, the prognosis is extremely poor. Refeeding slowly requires refraining from killing them with kindness. This horse, named Spirit is improving but still critical condition. We also picked up a year old filly, named Faith, at the same time who is in worse condition. They both show improvement.
Through your generous donation, we are able to continue helping these abused horses.
We take in special needs horses. Old, blind, have cancer, lameness, deformities, we see the beauty of their hearts and souls. We honor them.
